Attach a pocket clip?

This isn't really knife related, but I thought maybe you guys could help me out. A little background on this is that i am a volunteer firefighter and allot of us carry spring loaded center punches in our turnout gear to break windows at auto accidents. Last time i went to grab mine it was nowhere to be found. It must have fallen out of my pocket while crawling around in a structure fire or something. So what I'm hoping to do with my new one, is somehow install a knife pocket clip to the punch. My question is how would you guys recommended going about this? I have a few extra benchmade clips that Ive been thinking about using, and this is the center punch:

Should I try to drill and tap it? Ive never done this before, so if anybody can give me some kind of pointers on how to go about this, I'd be really great full.

Go to AutoZone, or check on Ebay,,, They have a number of small round tools and such(Small flashlites, tire guages, screwdrivers,etc...), buy it and use the pocket-clip from it(if it has one, and if it will fit...)... just a thought...

Thats a good idea, but im not sure if i can find one this size, and I dont know if it would be secure enough.

Does anybody else have any recommendations?

The way you attach a belt/pocket clip to a knife is with screws. You have to drill and tap holes in the liners or bolsters for this.
The punch on the web page has an aluminum body so drilling and tapping shouldn't be a problem, just use a good tapping lube.
You'll need to get the drill bit, tap, and screws. You can get them from any of the knife suppliers or from MSC.
I don't think you'd have any problems putting the clip on since you can arrange the screws any way you want.
If I still had all my folder making stuff I'd be happy to do it for you!

If you want to find some slide on ones like used on mini-maglites etc... check over at candlepower forums.

I seem to remember somebody having some there some time ago...
