attach scales to Mule2?

I just received my mule2 (missed out on mule1). I have cut out the scales, acquired 0.250" brass tubing for lanyard and 0.375" brass rod for the pins.

But, I am not sure how to bond the scales to the pins. I was considering using a 20 ton press to swage the pins.

So, if anyone would care to share the proper method of joining the pins to the scales...

Expanding the pins is pretty much the usual way to do it.
Some folks use a bit of epoxi to help hold it all together as well.

I'm putting black Micarta scales on my Mule2 -- my first try as well -- good luck!

For the pins, instead of a rod, I'm using corby bolts that I got from knifekits.com

There's a great handling tutorial in Daniel Kosters forum in the Makers area. I don't have the link, but I'm going to be consulting that when I do mine. Lots of pictures.
