what is the best way to apply stainless steel bolsters on a solid tang knife? does the ss rod peen well.
Thanks for the help
Dave

Pining the bolsters I believe to be the best way. Al;ways use the same grade and type metal for pins that you do the bolsters. Even though the SS is harder than NS it still peens well. Just takes practice and patiences.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Randy

Remember to taper the hole a bit, too. When all is done and ground down to fit, run some thin CA into the joint between the tang and the bolsters to seal it.
