Well, a buddy of mine from work has this little cheap Snap On folder that literally is just a single steel frame and a blade. (Liner lock) He asked if I could make him a new blade for it. Since the one in it is probably 440a,b or even 420 who knows. But anyways. I managed to make the blade, not yet ground yet, but it fits great, its smooth, & locks perfectly. I think that has sparked a huge interest in maybe trying an entire folder.

A few questions.. Can the frame, with the lock, be any type of steel? Or does it need to be some sort of spring steel like 5160?

Also, wheres the BEST place to get the hardware? Blade stop, torx screws, pivots, etc....
