Dang, I gotta finish another knife, cause the next one that goes up for sale here....
Price: $1,000,000,000,000.00.
I'll probably drop the price after a few days if it doesn't sell.

PS Ok, the above was obviously tongue-in-cheek. On a serious note, however, this is a topic that kind of interests me.
On the one hand, clearly it's no good to have a maker post a knife for sale, and have his For Sale thread immediately devolve into an ugly little fight about what his stuff is worth, overcharging, and then to have the name-calling start, etc. That's no good.
On the other hand, a little feedback on pricing I don't think is necessarily bad. I mean, say I offer a knife on BFC, and I ask $500 on it. If a couple people pop in and tell me, "You know, you're not famous, and there's another guy next door who's ALSO not famous, selling pretty much the same knife you are for $250.00." then they have just given me some useful information about the market in which I'm trying to sell my product.
Maybe I tell him "That's fine, but the price on this one is still $500", or maybe I tell him "Ok, I'll give you this one for $245"- but either way, I know more than I did before, and that's a good thing.
This is a tricky subject, so I'm just trying to draw attention to the fact that there are two sides to it.
At the same time, I did read the thread that I THINK prompted
this thread. I agree that giving a maker a bunch of grief is no good. But still, sometimes some feedback, some appropriately phrased feedback, can be good.
Edit to add: Now, whether or not Knifemakers' For Sale is the place where that feedback belongs is a matter of forum rules, and that's probably just something for mods to decide.
