No, it was just climbing to climb. I had just finished college when I embarked on that trip. Since then I've climbed in the Shawangunks in NY, the Adirondacks, White Mountains of NH, Wind Rivers (as mentioned), a little in Yosemite but no big walls, a bit in the Lake Louise area of the Canadian Rockies and up in the Wrangells of Alaska.
Been a while since I last climbed as I became a flatlander in Florida and I doubt I'll ever do much again, but who knows? At least there's still backpacking and hiking and for the most part that's okay with me.
