There have been popular finishes lost to the pissing and moaning of cry babies in the past. Comp finish is one such. Before release, ample warning was given about what it was. Busse had to stop offering it, because people were returning knives, wanting them finished like satin, but wanting to pay comp prices.

I prefer the original BIG finish. BIG DC is just not for me. Glad to see others like it though. I'll stick with stripping the CG down to its birthday suit.

I considered that.
I'm thinking if I don't really like the BIG DC finish, I can scotch bright it to a ghetto satin with much less work than stripping a CG and worrying about what's under the coating!

This. Having do so, it is WAY less work! Especially given some of the heavier decarb we've been seeing under the coatings in recent years.
