Whatever it is, I like it! It's on my M16-10F, and this steel is tough. But the question has been asked - IS it tough trash ??

You can get the details on its composition from CRKT's website. Basically, a decent steel; AUS-118 takes a good edge and holds it reasonably well. It's not S90V or even ATS-34, but it's not trash either.
A search of the forums and archives for AUS-118 and for ACUTO 440 will get you a bunch more information, including some comparison testing.
