Can anyone explain to me the difference between aus6a and aus6m steel, and if it would have any practical effect on blade performance? thanks....
 
AUS 6M will hold its edge longer and will also take a better edge when sharpened. It has a higher Carbon content than AUS 6A hence the better edge retention.
 
AUS6 and AUS6M are the same except AUS6M has 0.10-.0.30% Molybdenum and AUS6 has none.
