Anybody know a good Aussie wood for a Kukri with rats tail tang?
If done authenticly i will need to bore a hole through the centre and then burn it through the rest, then hammer over the end of the tang to hold the handle??
Any thoughts

I'm pretty sure the only aussie wood I've experienced is Eucalyptus, there's probably a bazillion species of it but this one is pretty nice.

Others i know of are
Acacia-lancewood, bendee, mulga, gidgee and brigalow
Eucalyptus(Gum trees)-BlackButt,Ironbark,Jarrah,TallowWood,bluegum,Karri
Pine-Rimu,Kahikatea,Kauri,Matai,Hoop,
Hardwood-RewaRewa(honesuckle),Tawa,Totara
Beech-Silver,Red,Hard
Black bean
Red cedar
Shit tried to list them but theres too many
OK easier question..whats the best wood in the world for Knife handles??

but i dont know what could be good for a handle?? dunno

Pick a hardwood and go with it. Use a bolster up front and a buttcap, your handle will be much stronger, and use epoxy in the handle.

Have fun.
