Copperhead, Yes, taken for granted as they have as much poison per inch of body length than a Cobra, have stepped on many hunting the tussock wetlands during summer...you know when your in the crapper when you put your foot on a coiled piece of rope that moves, damn I hate Copperheads...
Wrapped my 4 weight around a tiger snake in the middle of a river once, he was trying to crawl up the back of my fly vest, ever seen 90kg's walk across water??
I think that the top 4 deadliest snakes are down under. Ours are not as deadly. However, being vipers they strike much faster than the snakes down under and are very aggressive.
Probably the deadliest snake around the US is in the southwest and it's called the Green Mojave Rattlesnake. THey are thick and green and very aggressive and will chase you if not left alone. Their venom is a cross of hemotoxin and nervtoxin, so they have both the typical viper venom that destroys red bloodcells and the type of venom that affects your nervous and respiratory systems. Not good. Your not likely to survive that bite unless you are real close to civilization.
But the Taipans, Tigers and browns have super toxic venoms.
Your spiders down there are also a pain n the arse.
We have a snake called a Rough Scale never seen one personally, he is supposed to be super nasty.
The guy in the photos was an old friend of mine, he used to tell me about the rough scale. He was also the cause of my only snake bite, a red belly black, they are one of the least deadly, and that was bad enough.
