Bruce Barnette is just starting to make slipjoints. I should know because he spent a week in my shop and made his first one. Knowing this collecting market like I do it would be a good move to contact him for an early "B Barnett"

Thanks for the info, ill look him up.

p.s does slip joint mean no lock?

Yes, no lock. He showed me a gorgeous lillte lock back he made too. He seems to be getting interested in folders big time. Big enough to have one of the first even heat oven, surface grinder and rockwell tester soon. I spent a week with him and was real impressed with his level of commitment to perfection.

Yep that would be me. Have a look at my website http://knives.mutantdiscovery.com I pretty much have been making slipjoints only for the last couple of years. Although I have a bit of a waiting list now. There are a few others in the Australian Knifemakers Guild that make folders too. As was mentioned above Bruce Barnett. Also Peter Bald, Dean Johnson and a few others check out the guild website http://www.akg.org.au/

I have been haveing a go at a few interframe lockbacks in the last couple of years and are happy enough with them at the moment. If you want to contact me at parkerknives@hotmail.com with what you would like I may be able to give you a quote.

Havn't had a go at linerlocks yet, so I might not be able to help but I have placed thumb studs on lockbacks before for opening. I have a friend Ray Mendy from Smythsdale that has made a few nice linerlocks. My theory is that if I can hammer toghether a good lockback I shouldn't have too much problems making linerlocks in the future :) cheers.

Peter Bald (South Australia)

John Jones (Queensland)

Dean Johnson (Victoria)

Branko Giljavic (Victoria)

Should find all their details on the Australian knifemakers guild site. www.akg.org.au

Appologies in advance for our tired old site.
