Just listed a heap of Australian Lace Sheoak Blocks and Scales on our website under the Shop tab (Buloke and Lace Sheoak)
www.thetimberjoint.com

This timber has beautiful colour and figure.
Scales and blocks priced from $20AUS.

I can fit 9 sets of scales in a 1kg bag. Or 5 blocks.

Postage cost to the USA for 1kg is $41AUS.

Cheers

I don't know much about this wood but it looks beautiful. I assume these are raw and unstabilized? Any info on this wood would be awesome, as far as how it works and finishes etc. Also, is your ringed Gidgee unstabilized? Both are woods that i have never used before. Thanks in advance

I really can't understand the American obsession with stabilizing . I know you are probably just asking the question , but what you are looking at are Aust woods that apart from being some of the hardest woods in the world are also some of the driest . Think about the Arizona desert and what dead wood baked there for decades, or longer, would be like . I have used Peters woods quite a bit and have never seen it move. You could stabilize it but why bother?
Work it slow with new belts as you can burn it due to its hardness and reluctance to abrade away . Any nice penetrating oil finish will work but for truly spectacular show of colour a supper glue finish works a treat.
