In case you missed out on the MA72 that was sold a couple of weeks ago, here's another chance to get one. These have an interesting history, what little can be found online. There were several variations made over the years, with various model numbers and proof marks over time. I can't find any markings on this one, although with the dull finish original to the blade it could be covered over. Interesting, and long out of production. If I had to hazard a guess on this one, I'd say Vietnam era, maybe later. If anyone has any other info, feel free to pass it on to me. It's been in my collection for over 20 years, busy being an anomaly!:D

Pretty much in original as issued condition and never used by me since buying it in the mid '90's, with most of the now yellowed lacquer still intact. Handle is in super condition, although one of the scales sits slightly proud of the tang on the underside of the handle. These weren't meant to win any beauty pageants, but to be total workhorses. Sheath is the older canvas construction and sized for a longer blade. Specs as follows:

13.25" blade, with an OAL of about 19". Steel is Sheffield carbon, although I can't tell you the flavor, as with the wood handle. Stock thickness is on the short side of 3/16".

Price is SPF shipped via USPS Priority, paypal preferred. If you have any questions, let me know. Thanks!

Here's a couple of shots of the handle scales. One scale is about perfect, the other one that sits proud of the tang does have some gap between the scale and tang, right in the middle of the handle. You can slip a piece of paper in between and the deepest it goes is about a half inch with about two inches total along the tang before the paper can't move any more. There's no flex in the scales however, and the handle scales themselves are very solid with absolutely no movement. Hope this helps.
