Authentic Knifemaker Look

Im not about to put on clothes that isn't me, to be fake for someone to buy my knives because they think I'm a cowboy or a hairy cave dwelling knife making nut job. Just be yourself and the quality of your work should be the determining factor of sales, not your dress code. We're knife makers not models

Bring a good looking lady and no one will be looking at you anyways :)

But from experience we see a lot of personas

Special Ops Guy
Black Smith Guy
Cowboy Guy
Suit and tie Guy
Black T-Shirt Guy
WTF are you looking at Guy
Guy who only puts out pictures and is never at his table Guy

And they are all great guys :)

It couldn't have been said better

I try to be myself and dress casual with one of my own on my belt. Wash your hair and beard before the show and trim off those knots and twistys from the fur.

That's the guy I want to be! Too many cool people at the shows I want to meet. Besides, I've already seen all my knives!

What's up with that uppety attitude?

You spelled "uppity" wrong. (signed, your friendly neighborhood grammar/spelling cop :D)

I've decided on my "fashion statement". Black Dickies work shirt, blue jeans, and cowboy boots. (all clean, not crusted with shop-gunk or field debris, or coated with dog-hair... but not pressed and starched, either.) No hat. I may even shower for shows

That's me. That's what I honestly feel most comfortable in. Plus, I wear it well ( not everybody does).

I have a show coming up this weekend in Pasadena California.
I am really torn between the blue jeans and tie dyed t-shirts,
or if I should go conservative with the carpenter jeans and Hawaiian shirts.

....afterall, I am from Oregon and I sell unusual wood.
I would never buy wood from a guy wearing a suit.

Mark, as a wood guy I think you should go in bib coveralls with no shirt. :)

Just kidding. I have huge respect for you and your top shelf product.

You're funny!
Tried that, the bib causes too much sawdust to pile up on top of my belly.
BTW: I am not one of those guys who works in the woods and only comes to civilization to get or spend money.
We have a bunch of them around here and some of them can be pretty scary.

When are you coming down tryppyr?
I need someone to sort through all my cut offs.
It is getting to be a tough climb to get to the band saw.

If you're talking about Daisy Dukes, I'll leave that to you and Greg.

If you're talking about wood scraps, just send them all to me postpaid and I'll sort through them for you. :D

Go with the tye dye Mark!
Were gettin some collared shirts embroidered for the OKCA, and some t's done aswell for giveaways to go with a purchase.

Sadly, it'll be July before I can get there... but I'll do what I can to help mitigate the pile. :)
