I am in the process of talking about trading my ZT 801 for a Strider SnG CC. I am always worried about fakes or clones. I am not saying it is a fake because I do not know myself but I always like to make sure. I would like to trust everyone I come in contact with but i have been burned before and that has stayed with me. Maybe someone can help me with the pictures I was supplied with. Thank you

Could be. Are you doing the trade though BF? Then it's very very likely legit, and if not, you have recourse.

If you aren't, you are on your own. Good luck.

Looks legit to me. That would be a pretty impressive fake if it isn't real.

That is a real CC, so not a clone...

Never seen the male part of the pivot so far out, but that's not important as long as it functions well...

Everything looks fine to me but that doesn't look to be the original lock bar stabilizer. The LBS appears to be polished or damascus or something and the screw is sticking out. Unless you don't care, I would ask if he has the original LBS to come with the deal.

Thank you for the quick replies! Unfortunately it's not through BF so I guess it's on me but the consensus is that it is more than likely real so there's that! Ha I was worried about the LBS as well. Hopefully not a deal breaker

There is a washer on the LBS screw?!
I am thinking that the CC usually has a domed LBS, so using a flat one like that would make the screw go too far through the Ti and hit the blade?

You can pick up a Pete Gray LBS, and make sure the price is adjusted accordingly...
Someone really needed to have a .45 LBS!!

The LBS on that knife looks to have been made from a spent shell casing. I have a ti LBS I am not using and wont ever use. I can donate it to the OP if he doesnt like the shell casing LBS.

Yeah it certainly could be that, as a lot of dudes make those now, it seems. I don't know why the screw is sticking out though, I probably wouldn't go for that knife if he didn't provide the original parts as well. But, as was suggested, you can order your own LBS from guys that make them, and I'm sure they'll provide the right sized screw for it, just depends on how much money you want to add to your knife.

It's sticking out because the standard CC LBS looks like this...

Put a flat Federal .45 in there and the screw needs a washer, like the OP's....

Thanks for the gesture man! I really appreciate it. I have been talking to him and said he has the original hardware and will include it. I just want to thank everyone again. I will be in contact if the LBS doesnt fit correctly.

Just another picture I received.

I like the LBS but if it will harm it I will take it off

Cool pics man. The LBS won't harm the knife. It's just personal preference that I like to keep mine stock. Strider doesn't mind if you change out the LBS as far as warranty stuff goes, they just don't want you to do any permanent modifications like regrinds, drilling holes in the G-10 or whatever else people come up with. The original equipment is just nice to have IMO.
Good luck on your trade going smoothly.
