I bought this Police model on the bay and then the buyer refunded the money without my knowldge and he said somebody emailed him telling him it was fake.

What say you?

I don't recall there ever being "Police Model" on the knife, just "Police." The script is off too. I say fake.

So, you kept the knife and got your money back? If so, I would send it back to him if he wants it, or if its real re-pay him. Nice to hear someone doing the right thing. As far as being legit, I would guess yes, but am no expert in Police models. It is for sure an older model, but looks right to my relatively untrained eye. Deacon might know for sure, or another member who's name is eluding me.

Okay so what is the final consensus is?... REAL or FAKE?

It seems like we are all over the place with this one.

BTW, the sellr refunded me the money and he still has the knife. I still want it if it is real.

I have no idea if it's real or fake. But since there is reason to question it, I wouldn't touch it myself. There are plenty of real deals out there, why take a chance on trouble?

Real knife. But it is in poor condition. I have two different types оf "Police Model".

Ok, sorry for the miss-understanding. Still nice to see the seller doing the right thing.

Like Simple Man mentioned, it looks to me like the seller decided they let it go for too little and wants to relist it later for more money. Let them know that you're aware of their concerns and you want to go ahead with the transaction anyway. If it's still a "no" then let the neg-hammer fly with all your might.

Man, I hope not. I never thought of that. I had some restored faith in people, but maybe falsely :grumpy:

Looks real to me as well. In fact, given the visible pins and the high luster, there's an outside chance it's an uncoated aluminum Police and those are far less common and far more sought after by collectors.

Real, stainless steel handle, early second generation, only fair condition. I'm probably the member whose name was eluding someone earlier.

Third from the left. The two just to the right of the black one are uncoated aluminum. The pins on colubrid's look like that because someone has used the knife for a prybar. I'd bet it's loose and has lateral play, at least when unlocked.
