Auto Deploying Kydex for Folding Knives? Tips?

does it work when you wear it on your belt? Also i`m not sure but judging by the picture the way you have the clip attached it looks like that it could fall of your belt....

Well, most of the time it works on my belt. The issue with it is I draw it with my off hand, so it doesn't always deploy right.

The clip sticks on the inside of the belt, so it stays put with the tension placed on my waist. There is also a screw that sticks out and blocks the belt from sliding off.

Update: It seems like the clip I was testing isn't going to work the way I wanted it to. While it does stay in its spot, the belt appears to add pressure in spots where it hinders the opening. I can pull the knife out of the sheath with it opening any.

So, I'll have to either create new clip design or use another type.

You might try a soft IWB loop.

You still doing sheath work? I remember seeing stellar stuff from you a while back.....

I siriusly have NOT been paying attention for WAY too long.

Cheers!

I am. Been mostly doing production stuff for the last couple years, but gonna start doing more individual stuff again soon. Gotta finish some projects and get my website functional at some point.

Emerson was selling something similar to this to go with their commander model when it first came out in the late 90's I believe. I think the Emerson sheath would hold the knife open or closed but would also open the closed knife when you pulled it out...

I think the Emerson ad showed the sheath as being a shoulder holster kind of configuration...

This whole concept kinda reminds me of an OWB holster that I saw a video about a couple of years ago that would chamber a round when you drew the gun, by pushing down, as opposed to pulling up. The slide would stay stationary for a moment longer allowing a round to be chambered. I believe the purpose was that the military they (the users) were in only allowed to be carrying with an empty chamber and this was their way around that.

Edit: After a quick search I found something similar to what I was talking about http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2015/02/17/spains-automatic-holster/
