Auto vs. Manual Opening, Which is better?

I prefer manual and can open them rather fast but I do have a couple of the CRKT M16 types and the carson flipper really works well and its not going to fail. Not an auto but not really a manual

Alot of good comments here. I should have included fixed blades in this post as well. I have various knives for EDC and I like them all. In fact the three I rotate are a SOG Twitch XL, Spyderco Delica plain edge, and Mineral Mountain Hatchet Works FB. I like them all for different reasons, but I find the SOG spending more time in my dresser drawer. I love the knife and the AO action, but the safety drives me nuts. The Delica is probably one of my all time favorites. IMO you can't get a better made daily use knife for $50. I really have been wanting a Benchmade. I actually just got back from Bass Pro looking at them. $180 for a production folder sure stings though, I can pick up a great custom made fixed blade for that kind of money. I'm sure I'll own a Benchmade at some point, it seems inevitable and I've been looking at them alot lately. I'm just trying to hold off. Custom knife show in Little Rock in a few weeks and a gun show the following. I can't resist trying to hunt down a deal.

My left hand is partially disabled. I'm left-handed. I like to carry a Pro-Tech Duke in my vest pocket.I'm not fast, but its easier to get open than most manuals.

Common clip carried knives are not considered concealed, however Auto, not AO or manual knives, fall under different restrictions.. It is legal to own and carry an Auto knife in Oregon, however, when carrying it, it must be visible or it is considered a concealed weapon.. So if you have it in pocket, and have a long shirt or jacket covering it it is considered a concealed weapon. Even if it is attached to your pocket with a clip... Another misconception that some people have before getting a concealed carry permit is that, this will cover a concealed Auto knife. It does not. Only firearms..
