automat kalashnikov 101

Love my Kalashnikov 101, I have the stainless version, considering picking up the black finish, as well. Just an outstanding value for a large, heavy duty, well designed and nice looking folder. What a package! I don't know the rules for posting links to videos, but if you search "kalashnikov 101" on youtube my HD close up vid and review vid of this knife will show up!

I didn't realize you all were here in CO. Do you guys have a shop located here or is it just warehouse/corporate?

I know this is a bit of an old thread but I wanted to add my impression of the knife in subject. I have the black partially serrated version as well as the satin plain. It seems to be one of the few partially serrated knives where the serration are actually functional. They're spaced just right, just the right pattern and most importantly, just the right length for usability; still leaving a huge amount of plain edge for use as well. It's performance, design, ergonomics and action rival my more expensive folders. While it may not use the "fancier" steel that some of the folders I'm comparing this to uses, they've seem to do a good job on the 440c as it holds up great against hard use*. It has a very tight fitment and the blade sits nice and centered. I've tried the glass breaker out on an old Ford Tempo and it worked like a charm the 1st time with your average "tap". The lock is very stout and even on a very slow open, it snaps deeply with authority. In fact it is the "loudest/strongest" snap of all my folders. It's very very hefty.

My only complaint is the FRN scales BUT that is a personal preference. Does the FRN do it's job in providing grip, weight savings and durability, yes absolutely. The only thing I've had to do was sand the inside of the scales a tad as it was left a little sharp, but that's it. IMO they nailed this one.

*To define my hard use (might catch a little flack for this but hey) I've chopped away with it on some smaller 4" ash branches. I've used it to split those same ash branches. Used it to remove and cut up my old BF Radial T/A's. Ive used the tip to remove carpet tack strips and the tip held up great. Popped paint can lids with it and dug a sabot slug out of a pine stump. Might not be as "hard use" by some of you guy's standards (lol) but pretty impressive for me :)

One of my favorite folders (I'd really like it with some G10 -love that stuff :p)
