Automatic knife vs swiss army

As someone already said, I wouldn't carry an auto. Once you factor in deactivating the safety a normal manual flipper can be just as fast to open, and doesn't arouse as much concern.

A Victorinox on your keyring? I carry a Waiter, which is basically the Bantam with a corkscrew. I also keep a Compact in my pocket. For a folder, given that you have no intention (wisely) of looking at it as a defensive weapon, I'd suggest a Byrd Meadowlark 2 or Spyderco Delica. I just bought a Meadowlark and I have to say that it feels perfect in my hand as a small folding utility knife.

Ugh! Get a Victorinox made Camper. It will definitely last longer and work better than the one you have pictured. It is actually possible to injure yourself with an inferior tool if you expect it to perform like a quality example. Autos are fun, again you get what you pay for.

I think that most SAK don't have lock on their blades, and that sucks.
Why wouldn't you carry an auto? Considering that's no law about it? One small auto like mine it's very fun to have and it doesn't make you look like a gang member.

Also could you guys recomend autos (or even semi autos, but i prefer autos) that have good quality and the same size i posted?

PS: i hate the round look of the spyderco blades...

Kershaws with the speed safe function are fair quality and generally quite cheap.

If you want a SAK with a locking main blade, some Wenger models (mostly with S at the start of their model designation) have a lock.

Why? Because I think autos are toys. Sure, they are cool, but if I were to spend the money needed to get a quality one, for me, I rather spend that same amount of money on a knife where the cost went into the materials, opposed to one where the cost went into a mechanism. I can open a knife quickly enough already.

That's my preference, though. There are plenty of very good autos out there and they have many experienced and knowledgable fans.

And a cheap, very small auto? I really don't see the point. Again, that's just me.

So you are saying that a good quality auto is much more expensive than a semi-auto? It's not about speed to open, but how cool you look doing it :) autos are very cool!
My question is, there is any good quality brand version of this auto i posted?

Do you think that the huntsman/wenger SAK tools do their job? (saw, scissors, etc.) or i would be just carrying a lot of worthless weigth?

I bet I can open my manual knife faster than the auto in your picture :p

and as far as the SAK you pictured, you should get a victorinox instead of a no-name. Victorinox are incredible for the price. they're well worth the extra money. their scissors and saws are nice for their size.

I would really get a real Victorinox (or Wenger) instead of another brand if you go the Swiss army knife route.
The best thing about these is they are cheap around the world. For €20 you already have a nice selection to choose from.

Some favourite models of mine are the Super Tinker, Fieldmaster (Super tinker plus saw) or if you want to go the alox route Pioneer or Cadet.

It sounds like looking cool is your primary concern. Nothing wrong with that at all. If that is what you want, the solution is very, very simple. Find a knife you think looks cool, buy it, and enjoy it!

Get a knife that does what you really want it to do. (Sometimes people don't know what they want a knife to do...but it sounds like you do.) It will make you happy.

That's the only "knife" advice I can give anybody.

Yes, an auto that isn't total trash is going to cost a lot more than a TON of non-auto knives that are decent quality. If you just want to "look cool", fine, but just know that if you don't spend a fair amount, your auto is gonna be junk, whereas you can get plenty of good manual or even assisted openers for $20-40.
