Seiko makes a LOT of models available under $200- ranging from the Seiko 5's at around $50 up to the Monsters and the various SKX divers. Orients have been mentioned and they are a good choice. Also good choices are some of the Citizen autos.
Invictas were mentioned- they are good enough watches but prices are all over the place. The automatic Invictas are good watches if you buy them for the proper prices which would be under about $80. Invicta gets a lot of negative publicity because they copy so many other manufacturers, but I've owned 2 of them and they were pretty good watches.
There are lots of watches available for $50 and under, such as Alphas, that are good enough if you don't overpay for them.
I would also recommend checking out pmwf.com and I think there is still a Seiko-Citizen watch forum on the net.
Keep in mind that just like with knives, you can find plenty of dealers that will sell you a knife or watch for double what you can find the same watch or knife for on the net or from a user forum. Watch enthusiasts flip watches frequently just like knife enthusiasts do and if you overpay when you buy them then you are at a disadvantage when you want to change to something else.
