Autos for firefighters?

I am a paid firefighter in Oregon. I know the laws allow police and military to carry automatic knives. Do firefighters fall into that category? I feel that either they do completely or at least on duty.

I may be completely wrong but if I remember correctly anyone can carry an auto in Oregeon. I remember hearin that somewhere, although I may be wrong.
