Autumn Harvest Giveaway

I've been seeing some of the local harvest activity out here in the country, so I thought it's time for a GAW.

Bladeforums has brought me a lot of enjoyment over the years I've been here. I've learned a lot, and it has been a very positive experience. I have won a few giveaways, and the knives and the handmade wooden bowl I received are prized possessions. I use the wooden bowl every day on my bedside table.

The Traditional Folders and Fixed Blades forum in particular has been a pleasure to participate in - admittedly mostly as a reader and learner - occasionally as a poster, buyer or seller.

I will be giving away a NIB Buck 110, along with the sheath and documentation that's included in the box.

I bought two of these recently, one to keep and one for this GAW. They are excellent values, in my opinion.

I don't have any real requirements for this GAW, but I would request that no one enter just to flip it/sell it. If you win, try it out and decide it's not for you, that's fine. Then sell it or give it away. Just please don't enter with the intent to sell.

GAW will close at 10 a.m. Eastern time on Monday, October 25th, and winner will be announced later the same day. Winning post number will be determined by using the random number generator at Random.org. Post numbers that are not entries will be excluded, of course.

To enter, just post something along the lines of "I'm in" in this thread, and if you are so inclined, tell us either:

1. why you'd like to have a new 110

-or-

2. what traditional knife you carry most often (if any). Most of us love to see photos, but these are optional, of course.

Neither 1. or 2. is required - just an indication that you're "IN".

Good luck to all entrants, and thank you again for the great experiences I've had here, and continue to enjoy.

NOT in, but I do love to participate.

I could not, in good conscience, enter the GAW since I have won more than my fair share, and I have a 110 already. It is tempting to enter, since I do love the 110, and it is always nice to have a spare 110 for when you run into someone who really needs a good knife, but I will abstain. I have owned a number of 110s over the years, but I usually end up giving them away. Right now, I have one (that I won in a GAW), and my oldest daughter has been admiring it, so I think that one will be earmarked for her.

As far as the traditional knife I carry most, usually it is my 2015 forum knife, but over the last few months it has been my Lambsfoot. Here is the little 2019 Guardians beauty in the slip JohnDF JohnDF gave me :)

A very kind and generous giveaway :) Not an entry from me please (I wouldn't want to have to have to inflict the hassle and expense of overseas shipping). When I was a young 'un, I'd have given my eye-teeth for a Buck 110, but they weren't available here then. At some point I must get round to buying one, if only for the nostalgia

The knife I carry most is a Lambsfoot, and my Hartshead Barlow most of all :)

New, in 2019:

I would like to be in please.

its maybe 20 or 30 years (the years fade into one) since I had a 110 which if I remember correct I got in the American PX in Pleso (along with Randolph Aviators which I still carry on my motorbike).

Generous GAW :)
I am so glad you still enjoying the wooden bowl :)

Not an entry as I do have a Buck 110.
In fact it was my first traditional knife that I purchased on my birthday at a local Canadian Tire store 5 years ago.
It was my second knife I purchase for myself really. The first one being an Ontario Rat 2.
That Buck was the gateway into the world of traditionals and I never looked back :) ( well I looked back once for a spyderco LOL )

Here are a couple pics :)

Not an entry but very cool and thanks. When I was a kid back in west Texas this was THE knife. Everyone had one on their belt.

I’m in…. Because people speak in reverent tones about the Buck 110 but I’ve never owned one. My father had Buck pocketknives but they were the stockman or pen types, not the big folders.

I'm in and thank you for the opportunity. I'd like to own a Buck 110 because besides having one as a young boy I've not had one in my collection.

I'm in. I have a buck 110 my dad gave me as a child and I would love to give one to my son as well! Thanks for the giveaway opportunity, very kind.

I apologize for being late in posting the winner. I had some unexpected issues come up during the day, and when I finally got settled in and ready to let Random.org select the winner, my power went out! and it just now came back on... Ack!

The winner is: post #14. rcs86.

Thanks to all who participated. As soon as I get a mailing address for the winner, I will ship the NIB Buck 110 to its new home.

Odds of winning were pretty good, as we only had six entries!
