"Autumn Leaf"-W-2 VP Fighter in Ironwood and Rust Brown / Paul Long Sheath

That is one fine combo. Paul's work is always a treat to the eyes as is John's. But this one for me will be the one that sticks in my mind as perfect in design. Grand slam homerun John. BRAVO!!

gorgeous knife John. The handle looks like a comfy pillow.

Sweet! What did you use to brown the fittings, John? That is a really good looking finish.

Beautiful John. You do everything well, but I'm always blown away by your small fighters. Your proportions and colors are always so aesthetically pleasing.

Thanks all for the comments. It's easy to see I have a soft spot for this one.

Desert Ironwood can be so beautiful, and the rust-browning really picked up the wood's tones. Larry Fuegen uses these two together so well; I'd better credit him for inspiration.

Joe, I'm using a propane torch and Brownell's Plum Brown. It works very quickly on hardened and tempered damascus. Takes quite a bit more work on mild steel, but that seemed to suit here.

That is a sweet John I just love the way you hammer dome your pin's and the browned steel just makes everything pop very nice

Lovely knife John. Very inspirational in so many ways and flawlessly executed as always.

At 1st glance my thoughts are "Good Looking Knife"
At 2nd glance all the little details like the sculpting of the handle, the liners, spacer and hammered, domed pins change my opinion to "Stunning Knife".

John,

That's a sweet hamon and the browned guard is an unexpected touch. It really sets off the ironwood and your signature filework is always a pleasure see. You inspire the rest of us to come up to your standard. Thanks for posting.
