Also, a quick question. One of my sheaths has a difficult time holding the runt due to stretch. Do you have any recommendations for tightening it back up?

As for over stretching .. not sure how you managed to over stretch the leather while using the same knife, but you might try wet forming it.

You assume incorrectly. The firesteel loop will hold a Ferro rod that's 5/16"-ish in diameter. It has nothing to do with blade thickness.
