Can you use needle nose pliers as a glass breaker?

Because then I wouldn't have to miss around with a rescue knife. Almost any multi tool would do.

I do not think that would work too well. The tips of the pliers would likely not fracture the glass in a meaningful way without extremely high levels of force.

Most of the effective glass punches use a carbide tip or a sharp hardened steel point.
