hoghead,

you do know that the b-52 is expected to outlast all of our other bombers... the final phase out is something like 2030-2035.

Just thought that a good old aircraft designed with a pincil and slide-rule outlasting one of the CAD jobs was interesting... kinda like a khukri...

Congrats on the commision! Yes the 40's technology is going to outlast the others. Quite an aircraft.

Good Lord, that's right, I'll be driving down to Austin in the morning with an unhatched "Butter Bar". I'll really feel like a grandpa. Dave, you mentioned something about going into comm, you're going to have to swing by the squadron when we get our new USC-60 SATCOM terminals. Got some really good guys that would be more than happy to show you around some tactical commo gear.

Too bad the military geniuses didn't keep another great airplane around: The A6 Intruder. They've been trying to fill that particular medium attack role with everything from the F14 Tomcat to all the models of the F18.

Politix I guess. It was a GREAT airplane that could take it and deliver it and get you back to the boat. Another fine product from the old Grumman Iron Works on Long Island, NY

and today's A-10.

Keep on hearing about the retirement of yet another bunch, right after the report of the outstanding success of the missions, and the support of the ground troops.

(Must not be enough Pentagon career advancement in it. It isn't too expensive, it isn't glamorous, it works all the time, oh...and it has proven itself over and over.)

guys...we gotta close this down. By the title, people are thinking that the contest is still alive - and I'm not sure I can handle the work this week...

** This is not a contest or offer anymore **

Dan.... You do great work. How, I don't know. But the ones you did look fantastic.

Brian

PS You should have kept the Hulk.
