after many years on another strider heavy forum, i realised i think im to old to be that into striders " im 39" . I only really ever carried my striders on weekends at my lake house, while fishing. I think now its time to take on a new direction, Im in love with slipjoints, case looking knives, and for trimming fishing line or opening a package of hotdogs . What i also wonder is strider demagraphics ? Thanks fellas.

I am 44 and own three striders.
2 PT's & 1 SNG.
Although I must admit I don't carry them much.
I carry primarily a Sebenza (99.9%).

I am 45 and own 2 SmF's now, had 3, but I traded off one of them. :)

No knife requires a certain age or personality. Buy and carry what you like, that's all that matters.

Your right , but on the other heavy strider forum, i feel kinda out of place; They use the term Bro alot and talk about new strider tats. Makes me feel like an old man.

I'm 26, just bought a NIB PT with a pocket clip from a forums member,
The guy's in their 40's probably have larger collections then younger
owners. They usually make more money :-)

I don't think the age has anything to do with who owns one of them or who may want to own one. I would say that with most expensive knives its probably full grown adults that are the ones that can afford them so most are going to be aged 25 to 75 that own and use them probably. The children I know that use one have a father or older brother that gave it to them.

I can see why one would be deceived about age on forums based on some posts thinking someone was younger than they maybe are. Its probably true some never grow up and remain sixteen in their heads long after their biological age is beyond the mid life crisis stage but I think many come across differently when writing than they do when you meet and speak with them. It would be interesting to note somehow how many speak just as they write. My guess is not many.

I have 2 and pushin 40 plus....does age really matter that much as long as

you use your Striders and other knives:D;)

Im 28 and have no striders. I have been on the edge on buying an SNG a couple times though.

Some people type differently online than how they speak. I use bro quite a bit online, but never use it in true speech :o

32 here. Bought an SNG a month ago, traded it for a Seb two weeks later. It was a cool knife, but the sticky lock and blade to handle ratio was not my cup of tea. The small Seb has about the same cutting edge length.

I got called 'bro' a few times on that 'other strider heavy forum'. Don't get me wrong, that is a great forum.

Like others have said, buy what you like and I'm sure there are just plenty of more 'mature' Strider owners out there - because they cost a pretty penny!

20 here, have an SNG. Most expensive knife I currently own and it'll probably stay that way for a while.
