Avoid mosquitoes under tarp?

Here's is one set up before putting the tarp over the top, they work great and are cheap !

what about snuggling into a bed of leaves. covered top to bottom? i have never tried this but for summer it might work to make a bed of leaves then lay out a sheet or blanket on leaves, then cover blanket/sheet with more leaves then slide down inside.
just a thought.
