Awesome- Crawford Survival Staff

Would not a large metal cane have the potential to act as a lightning conductor during a storm?

Not anymore than a wooden staff of the same height. Lighting is not attracted to any particular material, it all depends on how high up the object is. This is a common misconception.

Of course if you are walking around on an open plain where you are the highest point around for miles, then you have an increased risk of being struck by lighting.

I know we all bring different price/value opinions to the table, but for me, $300+ for a walking stick is ludicrous.

Now these don't have secret compartments, and you can't change their size, but these Ash staffs work just as well. They cost nothing but time.

It is for walking stick unless it is also a baton and a cane. All three of which I would probably use in an average week. I can also break it all down for travel- George
