Recently, I had the opportunity to purchase a, Zero Tolerance 0392 BWBRZ L.E., at a pretty decent price. This finally gave the opportunity, to see what all the hype was about, with this knife. The detent on this one was pretty strong, & this ZT, just didn't feel good in my hands, so I decided to list in for sale/trade, here in the sales forum.

I was contacted by several member's, with different trade offers. One of these offers, exceeded anything that I'd hoped for, however, the member didn't have a lot of feedback, or history on this forum, so I was proceeding extra cautiously. This BF member (1Hiker2), was offering a beautiful (very lightly used/carried/sharpened), Microtech Marfioni Custom Socom Delta, with 30K CF scales.

Hiker, stated that he had purchased this sleek looking custom, at a blade show, a couple of years ago, in SoCal. On a hunch, I asked, Hiker, where exactly he lived. He got back to me, & told me he was located near, Laguna Beach (which is approximately an hour North of me), which was exactly a scenario that I had hoped for.

It turned out that both our schedules were fairly flexible, so we decided to meet a couple of hours later at a mid point location, in San Clemente, in the early afternoon.

It's not very often, that you get the opportunity to do FTF transactions, here on, BladeForums. Doing a trade (involving cash & pricey knives), this was a perfect scenario!

Hiker & I met up at local Rip Curl surf shop parking lot (I had a R.C. wetsuit that needed a zipper repaired- so this location right off the I-5 was perfect). After our introduction, & subsequent truck talk was out of the way, we got down to business & broke out our knives...

Hiker, already knew the ZT 0392 very well, so he just wanted to make sure the fit & finish on mine, was up to par. As for his MT Custom Socom Delta...the second I saw it, I knew we would work out a deal. This knife had that "WOW" factor, which helped us both move forward, & make a trade.

FTF transactions, are the best way to do a knife transaction. There would only be a fraction of the problem's, if all deals could be done in this manner. In this particular case, I highly doubt that I would have been willing to have made this trade, if it had involved the USPS/PayPal...

As for Hiker: he's a super nice, outdoorsy type guy, who absolutely is passionate about knives! He brought several custom's with him (as did I), & we shared some extra time admiring each other's knives. Hiker, is without a doubt, one of the member's who can be trusted; an honest, nice person, whom I highly recommend.
