I "discovered" this sweet spot by following a game trail along the river this afternoon. About three new inches on the ground and a gentle snow falling; it was a perfect afternoon to be outside.
Lots of beaver activity along the trail. One dropped tree even made a perfect seat to enjoy a fire and a beer.
Here's the obligatory gear shot.
As I enjoyed the fire, several groups of Canadians flew over nice and low. Ravens were squawking and various critters were scurrying about, but other than that, it was dead quiet. Very nice. Further down the trail I found the remains of an old mill built in the 1880's and an old yurt from the 1970's.
Definitely some potential for winter shelters in those two structures.
Anyway, had a great day and plan to explore a little more VERY soon. Hope you enjoy the photos.
Jeff
