I just finished this set up today...

My nieghbors friend came over to see the shop a few months ago. He brought with him an axe and knife that had been handed down from father to son for 3 generations so far. The sheathes were badly damaged to say the least. (mostly old sticky duct tape) He carried these, along with a small ammo holder, strung on a length of rope. He was just looking to get a knife sheath made. After chit-chatting for a bit I pulled out my Bushbelt and his eyes lit up like two 6D Maglites... The perfect way of keeping these precious tools protected and together.... damn I'm a good salesman.... I wanted to pull out the belt first thing but waited till the time was right. Anyhoo, I tried to match the ammo case and tie it all together. He wanted a thin belt and to have the shine knocked off the buckle and sheath rivets.... He just picked it up today and I practically had to push him out the door... I love my job.

I'm sure others here have made a similar set up.... lets see pics!!

That is an Excellent set-up bro....I really like it...I do not have a set-up like that, may need one though....Thanks for the idea...

That is a GREAT looking rig! It's good to see a real woodsman's get-up every now and again...gets us to thinkin' about what we really do need to carry in the woods and fields.

Nice looking set-up. Complete rigs like that are fun.

I got a guy making me a ranger belt out of some 1/4" thick Whickett & Craig leather. Gonna have him do a pouch or 2 for some slipjoints also. Needless to say I'm as excited as your buddy was.

Thanks guys...

Hey Jimi... I think this one was on the table when you came by... do you remember the duct tape sheathes?.... lol.

After making this one... I may switch to a thin belt too!!! .... it gives you alot of movement without binding (especially when worn low on the hips) and plus it's alot lighter. Not much lost in strength either.... hmmmmmmm.

That is a realy great set up. Love how you can keep the Axe on the belt with the knife... It only missing a sheath for a smaller knife to carry horizantly and you got a complete tool belt for the outdoors .... Great workmanship.... Now the guy can pass on the tool for 3 more generations with your set up holding it togher...

GAAAAH DROOOOOL !!!!! WOW that is a slick setup!

incoming PM, i have some work i need done. (i've been looking for a feller Canadian leather crafter)

fantastic! I'm reworking the sheath on my EDC and doing a hawk sheat soon, so you'll get pics as it goes

I have about the same setup only with a wider nylon belt from Uncle Mike's. I do leather work as a hobby I may have to fashion one like that. Uncle Mike makes a ammo carrier like that for use on any belt as well. Good work.

Looks to me like you just added to the generational inheritance.

Beautiful work, and great story. I hope he has someone to whom to pass them on.
