Just a note to say thanks for the inspiration. Since I read your post on how you set up your axe and why, I have rehung a small axe I had (1.25lb head and 18.5in. handle). I took great care in preparing the handle and head before mating them. As I type this note I am applying a light patina and then on to the sheath.

This project has taken the better part of two months since I wet sanded the head by hand. It was something I did while watching TV at night.

Well it was a joy to use this weekend camping and I can't imagine going without it. So, I figured I would have to say thanks for showing me what I was missing. I am sure you have inspired others than me.

THANKS FOR SHOWIN' ME WHAT i WAS MISSIN!

This forum is great.

Sincerely,
Shane Brewer

Hey Shane, that is great!

It always feels so much better doing something yourself, and knowing that you don't have to rely on someone else (or some company) to do it for you.

Do you have any pictures of that bad boy?
