was just wondering if you want to follow a similar process to sharpen an axe as you would with a knife.. as in raise a burr on one side and than remove it?? Thanks

Yes, that is exactly what I do to sharpen an axe. My wife wanted me to sharpen a shovel once for her, so I did the same thing. She then got mad and said "I didn't want it to be THAT sharp!". I replied "well who the hell wants to have a shovel sharpened at all in the first place?!?" I promtly dulled the stupid shovel again...

Funny, but true.. Bought an estwing at the local hardware store... nice axe but dull as dirt..Time to tune it up
