Axe sheaths?

So I just finished up these axes and wondering what would be the best type of sheath for them? Or if I should just sell them without sheaths. This is a dilemma I always face with knives as well. I want people to be able to pick their sheaths but I think they sell better with a sheath already made. What are your guys thoughts on the matter?

I think that a sheath or blade cover will make it much easier to sell. I made a cover for the edge on this hatchet and it worked out well. You could also take this same style, make it a bit bigger, and add a belt loop to it.

I agree. The shape and surface area of the cover would provide great space for some creative tooling.

I'm not sure people picking their sheath is that important. A subset of people buying factory knives replace the sheaths. probably a smaller subset replace custom knife sheaths. I figure you're the maker, you know best for your work, and then the buyer can put it to use immediately. I've had a couple customers replace sheaths I supplied, and a couple that requested knives without sheaths because they make their own regularly. But in general, I think users prefer to have something functional out of the box.

Pretty axes, BTW!

Shane, I like your sheath and hatchet. I would want a sheath on my hatchet for sure. Larry
