  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

I love it! Textbook perfect hang.

The only thing I might suggest is filing that bevel back a bit. These tools perform well with a chisel grind.

Nice , how did you clean it up. Looks great
Thanks! Mostly elbow grease...lol, I soaked it in vinegar for a day and then wire brushed it to get the rust off then with a lot of patience I started sanding it by hand using various grits of paper. The edge took the longest for it I used a combination of file, whet stone , puck, and strop. My process takes a while but I dont have to worry about over heating the edge.

I purchased a Viking style axe head from Adam Thiel in Hungary, I handled it with a nice piece of curly maple, and secured it with a thin wood wedge, the head is not drifted. I found a Medieval leather smith to make the sheath. It has a Damascus cutting edge, the rest of the head is hand forged, with a poll hammer head. Handy, functional, and I must say, easy to look at.
