Brand new never used Marbles 18" Hunter's Axe. My first axe:

Still haven't put an edge on it. What angle do you recommend?

The Norse Tradesman arrived with nick in edge, leather bone dry and horrible grind. I worked the grind and it’s nice now and edge good, Tung oiled the leather. Applied a patina, looks nice now. The Norse looks like the skeggox Floki used in Vikings. It’s also almost spot on to a 9th century find in Scandinavia, the head shape. My dane axe due to arrive tomorrow, stay tuned for pics.

I have that axe, also the shorter double bit with same color handle. These are both nice, heads still tight, they both throw well too. Did a few coats of linseed.View attachment 2491352

This door in my wood stove room serves well for a hawk hanger. I have not tried the skeggox or battle axe for throwing, the others get thrown frequently. Have a condor Valhalla thrower on the way. That will be my skeggox trainer for throwing. Have not thrown the 2hawks Viking Work Horse yet, but I did wrap some handle with leather. View attachment 2506735View attachment 2506736

Estwing hatchet and drywall hammer. Bought for 9 dollars. I just removed the oxidation, keeping the patina that formed.

I recently got Gränsfors small hatchet and I was a little hesitant to pick it because how small it is but I intended it for hikes and I thought I’d want it to be something I’d actually carry.

1: For cutting hardwood or frozen wood
2: For cutting softwood
3: For carving. Angle 25º – 30º
4: Wrong grind

Exactly what I needed. So these people I see on youtube who are slicing paper with their axe, that's not necessary I guess?
