Another make missing from the list is Ox-Head but I don't know where they are made.

I have a GI hand axe. Works well, but I want to get a Marble's. Anyone have any experience with Cold Steel's Frontier Tomahawh. How does it work as an axe? Looks interesting and inexpensive.

CAman- I have a CS Rifleman's Hawk and I really like it, so does my girlfriend and my brother. For it's class and price it is one of the best. You can purchase oneat One Stop Knife Shop really rather inexpensively, $15, compared to as much as $35 elsewhere.

Of their offerings I like the Rifleman's Hawk the best. The hammer poll balances the head out for more controlled strikes and better in-flight control. The hammer is also very useful. The Vietnam Hawk is a little too small, I had to see one in real life to realize that.

I don't know if you've seen the Firestone axe but it is very well made, well balanced and incorporates good steel. On the negative side, it's expensive. It certainly deserves a position on the list, though. Take care.

I recently picked up a nice axe made by Colt that has a small fixed blade knife that fits up through the bottom of the handle, which is some sort of hard plastic and is hollow. I packed supply of parachute cord up into the handle for emergency use. It also came with a nice cordura type belt sheath.

I put this in my survival pack that I carry in my pick-up. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. Cost me about $40 at a local gunshow.
