Axis lock/Blade wobble?

Ahem....my BM Ruckus (large) has developed vertical and lateral blade play. I've owned it for about a year now and have never used it for anything other than light cutting. It's only been sharpened once and even then didn't really need it. I've dropped it once on a wooden floor with no damage. Great knife.

Tightening the pivot screw reduces the lateral play, but not the vertical and also makes it a little stiff to open / close. It doesn't bother me too much and I'm a long way from Oregon (Africa). I also own the BM 710, Griptilian and H&K...no problems with them.
 
I don't think I would continue to use an axis folder that had vertical play in it. It seems to me that something must be very messed up for that to happen. As far as I can tell on the 710, 551 and 530 that I have, as the locking mechanism wears the lockbar will only engage deeper.
