I feel, personally, that it's not realistic to imply that linerlocks and framelocks are even 1/100th as likely to just suddenly break upon normal opening or closing. It's just not even worth stating that it's "easier to fix" as what it's being compared to is so insanely unlikely to break in the same conditions. That's like saying "yeah, a cheap ballpoint pen might break from clicking it, but it's easier to fix than a fountain pen." While true, fountain pens don't operate the same way and are not prone to the same issues. It's comparing a low-chance occurrence with an almost unheard-of occurrence.
Axis locks are definitely easier to replace if play develops, but that's different from outright lock failure. Besides, every benchmade axis lock I have handled, except for the Adamas, has had or quickly developed centering and/or blade play issues. Every single one. That's personal experience and thus not necessarily representative, but it has been very consistent over the years.
Pretty sure the same for me.There is more than one similar story/problem and they all have a common theme; "I was sitting there watching tv."
I've strayed away from lockbacks and axis locks just because of the centering and play issues I keep having with them. Besides that, neither are conducive to particularly good flipping action, and I do like my flippers...

The Manix2 has a good lock for those that like to use their knife for stress relief.![]()
Or the number of outright failures with the lock engaged!
