Axis lock question

The springs aren’t going to break while the knife is sitting closed or locked open. They will break as you are moving the axis lock bar back and forward.
Thank you. That is exactly what i needed to know.

Even if the spring did somehow break while the knife was locked open there is no force pushing the lockbar into the unlocked position. The blade wouldn’t just snap shut. Even if the bar does get wiggled to the unlocked position the blade isn’t going to snap shut with force it would at worst just fall shut maybe resulting in a minor cut.

Just carry the Master Sword.

My concern was if i was piercing something like a harder plastic. i was dumb as a kid and tried to do just that with a leatherman with no lock and it snapped on my finger pretty bad.
The master sword isnt my first choice for edc ;)

I would say if the springs did the job of pushing the lockbar forward and locking the knife then they are not going to snap. They will break when you pull back on the lockbar. If they both broke while you are doing that then the lockbar won’t push forward into locked position and you will know it is broken.

Right, at that point all of the force is going to the stop pin or the lockbar and not the springs. Thank you!
