Here's the car in question. Anyone familiar with Plymouth will recognize the car and the street on which it was photographed. ;)

Whose idea was it anyway regarding the Gurkha Style micro-mini's!!! Oh yes, I remember!!!

See what happens when you put out imagination juice Dr!! :p

LOL!!

Kohei ;)

Rio,

Is that an M43 style kukri i'm wearing?? I think you should send it to me as compensation for making my embarrasment levels go far higher than they ever should!!! :D :D

I take full blame. :o I'm tempted to design a nurse's uniform, but as one of them who would be wearing the uniform weighs in at about 210 lbs., I put the idea on the back burner. :D Moammar Ghadaffy would like the combat uniform shown in Rio Jim's "doctored" photo...

I must fess up, both Kohei and Sirupati are completely innocent (in this conspiratorial Photoshop fantasy, anyway). I could fall back on, “I have my sources and methods.” Would you expect any less from an ex-Green Beret intel officer? Or, “ I could tell you, but then I’d have to….” :D In truth Simon, I pinched the background from your recent trip to the Gurkha Museum, and lifted Leanne’s countenance from one of her own posts, on your forum. The body double? Lets just say scouring the web can be a revealing experience. The M-43, Kiwi slouch hat, and web belt – from my own war chest. The concept, egged on by the likes of Spirit, et al., from the depths of my own deviant mind, with the hopes you would view it in the spirit it was intended. So I have to plead artistic license and take the “5th.” Remember, I’m a crazed Vietnam vet! I’m sure Kohei’s shriek, on logging-on, was worth the price of admission. Please accept apologies; I’m self-taught on the computer, so I can’t really do justice to the subject.

Kohei: What’s a nice English lass doing in a Cantina like this, anyway? When you have nice khuks, flaunt ’em!

My pic? OK, Kohei, you asked for it….

Oh, you bet it was!!! Imagine, I'm at work, thought i'd have a sneaky look on the web to see if anything interesting was going on and BAM, there I am   !!! Next thing, Simon on the phone laughing his head off!!! My face, as red as.... :o , work colleagues wondering why!!!

Kohei: What’s a nice English lass doing in a Cantina like this, anyway?

I have no idea!!

So Rio, great pic, but I wonder whose body are you on????!!!! :D :D And when can I expect the M43 to arrive!!!!! :D :D

All the best,
Kohei

Kohei- I used quotes around the word, "you', to indicate I knew it was a patch job.

I haven't read the rest of this thread yet, but personally, splicing your pict over that and saying it was you is over the top. No big deal- but poor taste and maybe apology time. That is just my opinion, but I won't apologize for expressing some offense for the joke.

You've taken the joke very well, and graciously too. More than I would have, perhaps. It is just a joke, though.

RioJim - what a great spoof!

Clearly you got the effect you intended. :D

Kohei - thanks for being such a classy lady that you can take a well-placed joke on a public forum. Sure is nice to have some humor now and then.

Nobody stood up for me when Bruise turned my 'monster beard' pic upside down....

Of course, that was a pretty good comeback to me painting donkey ears on Bruise's avatar....and making him dance nekkid while being chased by a Troll..... :o

Did I mention the picture of me with a pizza box on my head? (in the mugshot thread from a while back)

Glad to have you around, Leanne. And you too, RioJim. Sounds like you're just my type.

Where's PhilL to enjoy this?

:D

Well Munk, If it is in bad taste I suggest you blame me for incouragin Jim to do the photo.

I have since encountering Sirupate on this forum met him & Leanne about 4 times for meals , drinks, trading & kukri chats as well as general life stuff.
I am sure Leanne would draw the line in my teasing of her and if shes chooses to do so it stops dead as far as I am concerned. She is a
capable woman.

You probably would have to have read half a dozen different threads in full on both HI & Tora to fully understand all the ins & outs of what happend here & how it came about.

cheers,
Spiral

HD sent a pic of a "Magic Bus" that I can't open. Maybe someone can help him post it on this thread?

Look, Dude, it's just a joke. But you took a chance that connecting Leanne to sex object was OK. What other way could she take it? What option was there truly?

It doesn't matter what your context is. It is now in the public arena.

You don't know who is on the internet. If this was just 'us', the joke would be less risky.

You have anything you'd like to say, please email.

thank you,

munk

Sure Munk,, I realise your playing the knight in shining armour & thats cool in my opinion{bieng a dude & all that ;) }

But To say I have connected Leanne to a sex object is incorrect. Mild humorus titilation perhaps, with slight sexual innuendo perhaps. But Sex objct? I think not.

I actualy though Jim carried the photoshop image of in a taste full manner, if it had been any further across the line, I guess I would play the role you just have.

I guess living in the states tha chance of a lone wacko psyco stalker is much higher than in Sunny Devon.

Not to mention if not Leanne but certainly Simon & others I am sure, would be able to cope with the local varieties of looneys we encounter.

I dont think anyone intended any offence to Kohei. You & I both recognise it was just a joke.

if you realy want to take this to emails thats fine, but , to be honest to my mind ,I dont think any harm has been done, but you have taken a light hearted thread & altered its perspective., A no doubt killed it stone dead, which may not be a bad thing as teasing of anyone can become tedious for them in time. ;)

I think this thread would have filtered out anyway, you have just enhaced that process.

cheers.
Spiral :)

Ahh, I see that now Munk. Just wanted to makesure.

Thanks for your support, apart from being embarrassed for a few seconds, no major damage done (or atleast not yet as far as I can tell!).

I didn't mind the post too much, just a bit of humor, even if it was at my expense, but its easy to see where such threads can go.

Spiral is correct, if I had a problem, I'd say.... Simon can vouch for that. The post reached my what I call "Ok limit", if it had gone above, everyone would know about it by now.

Thanks once again.

Leanne

I read your first response, Fenry, and I agree. This world is best when we can speak our minds. My observation of tastelessness is now being characterized as an assault on the First Amendment and probably a Christian right heavy handed over-reaction. Words are difficult in public. I tried very carefully to say this, to overcome this barrior. "It is just a joke," I said at least TWICE. So calm down, relax, it's still not that big a deal. But I'm not apologizing for your bad taste.

None of this matters. We all have bad taste, bad manners, miscues, whatever. It's a boiling healthy pot of bloodly ghoulash. (spelling intentional)

We can hammer this thing as wildly as our frustrated modern era egos need. Dogs handle this by barking all night. In a way, they are smarter than we- there's no pretense it means much; it's just barking. And at this point, 100 words too much and plain annoying on everybody's part. If either of you feel the need to strike out once more go ahead. I'm far lower in my own estimation than either of you Dandies could strive for.

Too bad we're not at a pub, ( and I could drink) I swear to God we'd all be laughing now and raising glasses, one bright dandy to another.

I think that would be a good thing and would always welcome you to the table. Hopefully one day I could......

Cheers to you,
Steve

Good. Now we're back on track and in the place we belong. The Cantina has all kinds of moments. But friendship is a constant.
