The actual law makes no mention of blade length. It prohibits the concealed carry of deadly weapons except "pocket knives" without a permit (for concealed handgun carry). Opinions differ on whether concealing one is a weapon or not, I've read things on both sides and the law seems vauge, but open carry is certainly legal. I've openly carried an Applegate-Fairbairn in the Phoenix area, including Peoria, with no problems. There are no length or style restrictions in AZ.
Not that I advocate this over a firearm, but I've known people who carried swords.
As long as you do no evil you are pretty safe . Open carry goes all the way in AZ. I saw a biker looking guy with a holstered auto pistol with silencer at the grocery store. Perfectly legal if you got the papers for the silencer.
