Azwelke 4.1 sheath

Hey Redwood
Good to see you. I hadn't seen you around in awhile and was wondering if we'd heard from you. Hope all is well.

Yup!! I'm still kicking. Work has been very busy, lots of colliding deadlines mixed with a number of family obligations had to put my hobbies on hold for a bit, I think this week might see some light though!

Hey Standard can you post a pic with the original survive sheath next to your new Azwelke , I am thinking about getting one made also , the 4.1 is such a nice lightweight knife I think it would pair nicely with your new sheath . Thanks Jake

I'll post a photo once I get home tonight for you bud.

Here you go jjweb.
The leather sheath is a number 9 from the BHK website.
The Azwelke taco is about 5/8" narrower than the stock pancake.

I still need to reverse the bend on Chiral's UKE attachment because I'm a lefty. His UKE will mount perfectly to this sheath.

How does that thing fit in the #9 BHK sheath? Their leather is very nice

Like a glove! It sits a little deep in it, but it has retention.

I'm not a huge fan of lanyards, but one would help when using this sheath.

Nice thanks Standard , just the comparison I needed to see . Also you answered my second question , I was guessing Chiral's Uke attachment would work . That slimmer sheath really fits the lightweight compact package for the 4.1 .

Kinda been tossing around the idea of getting one of those Azwelke sheaths for my 4.7 as the one (stock sheath) that came with my knife is leaving marks on the side of my blade. Although I do have a sagewood on the way, though probably gonna be another month or so.

That looks like it was custom made for the 4.1!

It actually fits the 4.1 better than the BHK bushcrafter it was meant for!

Awesome bud! Glad I could help.

This pic makes me need a taco sheath like never before!
I think you do! I'm waiting till the 3v 4.7 shows up so I can decide what color kydex to pick.

Kydex scratches drive me nuts! I haven't noticed any new marks from this new sheath so Azwelke may be using more tape on the blade for better clearance.

In my experience, regardless of how the Kydex sheath fits or how well it's made, you'll eventually incur scratches. Kydex may buff or polish certain contact points over time but in and of itself won't scratch a blade.

Dirt, dust, sand, or other detritus left on the blade or in any sheath is the culprit. Your mileage will likely vary.

Thanks for all the kind words :)

We have hybrid drop loops and danglers that are universal, and fit in place of tek loks and molles, on our site azwelke.com

FYI Dust and debris in a sheath creates the scratches, not kydex. Leather will do the same thing in my experience, in fact leather will scratch on its own as it is naturally abrasive. Thats why it is used as a strop and not kydex ;)

Standard did you get the UKE attachment done yet ?? Like to see the final product . Thanks

Here are a few shots jjweb. I completely forgot about it last night.

I chose to stick with the clip instead of the dangler on this one. I think I'll end up moving the clip down lower on the extension because I kind of want the knife to ride a little bit higher.

Thanks for the pics , looks like Chiral's UKE fits perfectly . And the sheath was made for a Battle Horse Knives Bushcrafter ?
Will have reach out to Azwelke because I do not see it listed on his website , or maybe I will just get one for my 4.7 that should be here on Thursday 😀
