i'm going to scrap a jeep cheeroke later this week. will have to see if "mister ugly" can do a few trick's with it. mmmm... maby a video of an escape through the roof?:eek: this knife take's me back to the old day's of busse "COMBAT", a no frill's straght up user! i feel ten year's younger when i'm beating the sh@t out of this thing. jerry brother thank ya again for a very nice tool. the ladies are gonna hate ya, because i'm feeling frisky after using him.

Great score they look like real Choppa's and your putting ole ulgy to the test. :thumbup: Good story to you been drink'in again brother.
Sounds like your feeling your oats! :D:D :thumbup:

so this is a really stupid question but what is the deal with the asymetrical edge? what is the benefit behind it?

I know it was self defense against the Pabst BR can:thumbup: Way to defend the hotel room:thumbup::D

"destroyed a hotel room" :eek: That's a story you have to tell. With pics. :D

re sheath. David Brown most likely has one, Mashed Cat, too. I know one is on it's way to steelnut.

From what I have heard, you get the benefits of a Convex edge for choppping, and edge strength.

Easy to maintain in the field. You can run it on a ceramic stick in the field, because of the v edge.

Also, one thing I tend to notice with Traditional V grinds, is sometimes when whittling, controlling the angle and depth of the cut, and tracking the cut straight is a bit easier with a V-edge, than with a convex.

I tend to find that for some reason making a straighter cut is easier with a V edge. Don't know why.

So the asymmetrical edge combines all these things. Easier to cut straight because the v edge is on the left side, chopps and had edge strength like a convex edge, and easier to field sharpen.

In a nut shell. Again, I have 0 experience using one. I use v grinds and convex ones, but never a hybrid yet.

thanks for the explanation, although it sounds interesting I am glad I got the standard edge on mine, the assymetrical thing kind of reminds me of chisel :barf: :D

Definitely not a chisel grind. The blade is ground like a normal blade. Only the very edge has the treatment. And one side is ground like a v grind, and the other is simply convexed.

From everything I have heard, it is nothing like a chisel grind performance Wise, none of the edge pushing, cutting straight issues.

It doesn't look like it, I just like to rattle cages, I know there are a few chisle fans here. ;)

Great bunch of knives you got there!

Chisel grind,I think Lycosa is the master on that topic.

Nice group shots!! :D:thumbup::thumbup:
