With this heat I tend to work more with stock removal and leave the forging to cooler weather
Stock removal from 52100 high carbon steel
Heat treated to Rc 58-60 in my shop using three normalizing and two tempering cycles to produce a fine grain structure throughout the blade
Flat grind
Canvas Micarta handle sanded to 100 grit for grip
The tang has excess steel drilled out and tapered so balance is slightly toward the handle to lay nicely in the hand
Overall length: 8 inches
Blade: 3 3/4 inches
Oiled leather scabbard with a belt loop for a right hand carry
