Buying Busse Blindly???

I appreciate quality, infact I insist on quality. That's why I buy a Busse!!!!

Problem is....I can't attend knives shows or gun shows to personally to pick one I like. The only informations I'm going to get are the "hear says" over the www.

Here's my question. Without the benefit of handling and fondling the knife before a purchase, will I run the risk of recieving a Busse where the edge and the spine of the knife are out of sync with each other? I mean the edge point in one direction while the spine point in yet another direction. (Seem like they are not in talking term. Each decide that it does not want to have anything to do with the other. Like in a song " while you go your way, I'll go mine") I really hate that but, it happened often enough to make me apprehensive of making new purchase.

Some guys might say..." Just send it back for a replacement!".... well, with shipping costing about 30 bucks each way, it's clearly not a very good option let alone the unbearable waiting period and the uncertainty of goods in transit. I honestly believe that every purchasing experience should be a nice experience.

If ever there should be a surprise, it should only be a pleasant one. Remember we are talking about spending money to satisfy our "wants". to buy us a tiny winny bit of happiness. Not talking about "needs" here. Okay, let's hear from you guys. Thanks. :)

Hi Akee,
I purchased my first Busse in July and could not be happier. I noticed you are over in Sweden. Glad to have a Swede in the group :). Maybe you knew this this but in order to make purchases easier in Europe, there is a Busse Combat Germany (http://www.busse-messer.de./). That doesn't allow you to get your hands on a model but should overcome concerns about shipping. After getting and using my SFNO, I could not resist getting the new HO Fusion Steel Heart. Fit and finish are first rate by all accounts I have read and that matched my experience.

If I were you I would just ask a lot of questions about the model you are considering in this forum. You can even call the shop if you don't feel like you have all the answers you need. Busse has attracted a very helpful (and hilarious) community and has helped me a lot!

Good luck!

Right now I am planning on buying some of those Busse that turn up once a while on the for sale forum and Ebay, of course. :D

Not to worry, I've never seen a Busse where ANYTHING is out of sync with anything else. If it's not perfect it doesn't leave the shop and unlike others (Cold Steel for example), Busse or Swamp Rat do not sell 'seconds'.

The only problem with not being able to handle them is, you may PERSONALY not care for the blade shape/size, the way the handle fits your hand or something of that sort. But that is a personal prefrence issue. Out of the 30+ Busses I have owned there have been some I didn't care for in that regard, but all were perfect as far as workmanship goes. This also goes for the ones I've gotten from ebay or individual sellers. Even the 'apprentice' knives were supurb.
