Thanks. I'm trying to get as much feedback as possible on different multi tools before I purchase one. Intriguing to hear first hand experience from users.

If you are looking, give the SOG Powerlock a once over. I have been beating on mine for 10 years or so now, it hasn't failed me yet. FIL has one also, uses it on the farm for stuff I'd never dream of.

I second that! My best friend used to be a landscaper and owns a black-oxide SOG Powerlock. When we used to work together, he'd prepare for the day by doing nothing but lazily throwing on his clothes, sleepily eating some cereal, and chucking his SOG into the cab of the pickup truck we drove. We would both use that multitool several different times throughout the day, from pulling out bent nails and cutting grass out of blades, to using the blades to butter mayo on our sandwiches. He never oild it, cleaned it, or babied it. Heck, he even drove it over with a golf kart once and the thing didn't even have a scratch. He doesn't carry it anymore now that he's in college, but it still in his room someplace.

Just curious, anyone own a large BM Adamas ? If so how do ya like it ?

Tinkered with one. Theyre bombproof, lock is good up to 700-800lbs. The blade is too fat for slicing ability but it cuts fine. The handle fills the hand like a fixed blade, which means it is comfortable in hand, and pretty awkward in the pocket. No wonder they include sheaths.

I personally think the blade is too short, but then I compare it to fixed blades a lot.

I really like mine. It is a beast but carries better than you would expect.

I've carried a leatherman juice pro for over 15 years and feel naked without it. It's all slip joint so might not be for everyone but it's done everything I've asked. I tried to carry a wave, surge, and charge but they poke me in the side and just don't fit on me well. I keep them in my bag but only really reach for them when I need the extra pliers to tighten a bolt or somesuch.

I still have bags of zerust protectant dividers up for grabs. great for a toolbox or tackle box. I can send a couple one gallon bags (1 per person).

Whetstone got the Caly jr today I love the knife, Unfortunately so does Mrs. R. and as soon as she saw the knife I got the look (the hey I want that knife can I please have it) and I told her it was a rare discontinued knife, that could not live it's life at the bottom of her purse , and if she agreed to pocket carry it ok, she could have it. She agreed I sharpened it up for her good and proper and she hasn't put it down since  Thank you. She'll be paying forward her little/monster alien next I think most people call them a pug lol, but I think I can squeeze her into a medium flat rate if anybody wants her lol

Well glad you got to at least sharpen it before Mrs. R got a hold of it ;). I will not be claiming the alien, as my 85 lb dog is afraid of my neighbor's pug. :D

Sorry, nothing new in the house that eats or poops is allowed.

Lol :)

On a completely unrelated note this thread has kindled my interest in traditionals. Am heading to my favorite knife shop this weekend, was thinking of looking at a GEC 42 Missouri Trader pattern with clip point blade, GEC 72 Cody Scout pattern, and some Queen Mountain Man patterns. I am fairly uninitiated with traditionals, anything i should know about with these?

Get your hands on as many as you can, but IMO, GEC is really hard to beat for new production knives at the moment. I really like Older ones though, ones I consider HOK's Honest Old Knives.

Personally my favorite GEC is a #66 Ebony Jack I've been carrying for a bit.

They have a very large selection of case knives too, so same advice handle a bunch and see if anything appeals to me?

Well, I don't think "new" Case knives have been worth looking at quality wise since back to the 70's at the latest.

Haha, my only case knife IS from the 70's, my dad gave it too me but it is a little guy i carry when i wear a suit.
